VETERINARY EXAMS
Medical Exams
If your pet is not feeling well or if you have a medical concern, please set up an appointment for a medical exam with one of our veterinarians. Our veterinarians will provide your pet with a thorough examination for a variety of problems.
Wellness Exams
A wellness exam is provided for healthy pets, usually on an annual or semi-annual basis. A thorough physical exam will be performed and any problems will be addressed at that time. Vaccinations will be discussed and a vaccination protocol will be tailored for your individual pet & his/her lifestyle.

VACCINATIONS
General Guidelines
Canine Vaccination Recommendations
Feline Vaccination Recommendations

Vaccinations are critical in protecting your pet from infectious disease over the course of their lifetime. Some are considered "core" vaccines, which means they are appropriate for all healthy pets. Rabies is considered a core vaccine, because it is legally required and is critical to public health. Other vaccines are only appropriate for pets with particular life styles. Our veterinarians can help you create a customized vaccination protocol for your dog or cat.

LABORATORY
We have a full laboratory capable of performing fecal flotations, urinalyses, and general cytology. We also have lab analyzers that perform a variety of in-house blood tests, including CBC's, chemistry profiles, canine heartworm and Lyme antigen tests, and screens for feline leukemia, feline immunodeficiency virus, and feline & canine pancreatitis. Most of our routine lab work is sent out daily to be performed by Antech and Idexx Laboratories.

DENTAL CARE
We offer dental prophylaxis procedures which includes hand scaling, ultrasonic cleaning, polishing. We also perform dental radiographs & extractions if necessary. Your pet will be under general anesthesia for the procedure so all of the safeguards described for surgery will be implemented.
MICROCHIPPING
Microchipping is a permanent form of identification for your pet. The procedure is simple and can be performed during any visit to the hospital. We recommend updating your contact information regularly.
We utilize the HomeAgain microchipping system and recommend that all cats & dogs be microchipped for their safety.
PRESCRIPTIONS
We have a full pharmacy in our hospital to meet your pet's healthcare needs, including Heartgard Plus, Nexgard, and Frontline Gold. We also utilize the FlavorX system to flavor your pet's medication as needed.
Want your pet's prescriptions sent to you? Try Vet's First Choice, our online store that ships to you.
SURGERY
Our veterinarians perform general surgery at our facility every weekday morning. We commonly perform ovariohysterectomies (spays), neuters, growth removals, cystotomies (bladder stone removal), and other soft tissue surgeries.
We recommend lab work prior to many procedures to help provide the highest level of safety during and after the anesthesia. The lab work recommended varies due to the age and medical history of the pet.
In addition, our patients are monitored by Certified or Licensed Veterinary Technicians and modern equipment including ECG, pulse oximeter, esophageal temperature, CO2, blood pressure and respiration monitors. Patients are kept at optimum body temperature with a warm water blanket placed underneath and a warm air unit over the top of them. Patients are also safeguarded with an IV catheter and fluid support.

In certain cases, our veterinarians may refer you to a specialty veterinarian. BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital (previously known as Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists) and the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center (WVRC) have board-certified veterinarians.
