All of our veterinarians perform general surgery at our facility.
We offer surgery every morning, Monday-Friday. We commonly
perform ovariohysterectomies (spays), neuters, growth removals,
cystotomies, declaws and other soft tissue surgeries.
We have a referral veterinarian, Dr. Steve Timm, utilizing our
facility for orthopedic and other specialty surgeries as needed.
Dr. Steven Timm graduated in 1986 from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. He has extensive
experience in small animal emergency and critical care, and
currently works as a surgical consultant for companion animals,
providing Shorewood Animal Hospital with the expertise and
experience necessary for difficult orthopedic and soft tissue
repairs. Living in scenic Vernon county surrounded by wildlife,
he pursues his hobbies of woodworking, canoeing, fishing and
hiking.
We recommend labwork prior to many procedures to help
provide the highest level of safety during and after the
anesthesia. The labwork recommended varies due to the age and
medical history of the pet.
In addition, our patients are monitored by veterinary technicians
and modern equipment including ECG, pulse oximeter, esophageal
temperature, CO2, blood pressure and respiration monitors.
Patients are also safeguarded with an IV catheter and fluid
support.
